My Epic Personal Data Collection Project

As mentioned in the previous post, my goal for the month is to optimize GSD (Getting Shit Done) and my time management. So using this as an excuse to have lots of data to play with, I'm in the middle of an epic personal data collection project inspired by the Feltron Annual Report. This is not a boring collection of a company's annual financial statements, but rather a really cool data visualizations this guy Nicholas Felton does of data he collects on himself each year. Check it out.

I'm no data visualization expert, and definitely design-challenged, but I've collected data on myself for the month of August 2010 and will attempt an infographic. Its a tedious project, but I've already discovered many things about how I really spend my time, and how I can become more efficient. Will post the infographic and findings on the blog when I'm done!

Do these graphics factor in how much time you spend creating said graphics? I only glanced briefly over this Felton chap's work, but it doesn't look like a 5 minute, cobbled-together on MS Paint kind of job! Will be interested to see what you manage to cook up, Iris!

Can't wait to see it! Are you gonna have a cool name for it, like Iristron?

Rach - Well, no because I only tracked data for August and didn't start analysis until September!

Ernie - Maybe I should. I was gonna go with something boring like the Iris August 2010 Report. That sounds terrible.

I'm starting to think posting a link to the Feltron reports was a bad idea. You guys are probably expecting this amazing graphic when you're gonna get some shitty charts and text from the Iristron report. :)
